The Repopulation of Aberystwyth

The other day a couple of managers and myself went out for a drink - and there was something I noticed.

The place was full of people; whether this was the locals last drink before the students got back, or just some early arrivers (or both) the town was busy. Something I haven't seen since Graduation week. The town was packed with people dressed up in all sorts of costumes, with St Trinnians being a rather popular choice for many - and it made me all warm inside. It got me thinking, town is a completely different place when the students are here, I didn't notice how much I missed the buzz town has when it's busy (I didn't go home for the last 2 summers). It's fair to say that Aberystwyth is made by the students, and that's becomes more obvious when you try to have a night out in the summer and discover you are the only person out! I think that's why Aber' is so popular with students, because the students make the town... they are an integral part, the same way Constitution Hill and The Bay make Aberystwyth. I can honestly see myself not leaving this town any time soon, I <3 Aber. I can't wait for term to start proper. Despite the fact that I will be working for Information Services, and doing Bay Radio work, and have lectures during freshers week - I intend to be out every night!

If you see anyone with a Bay Radio hoody, or better yet a Bay Radio t-shirt go over and say hello!
